Talent Review Meeting Facilitator Workshop:

Who Should Attend: Professionals in the fields of Human Resources, Talent Management, and Organizational/Leadership Development who are responsible for planning, leading, and/or executing their organization's talent and succession planning processes.  This two-day workshop is especially designed for individuals who are conducting talent assessments and talent review meetings, to identify successors and key talent for their organization.
Workshop Objectives
During the workshop, participants will:
  • Understand the business need for talent management, understand talent management concepts, and be able to communicate talent management strategy to business leaders
  • Review talent management readiness factors and sponsors, talent assessment methods and tools
  • Discuss, create, and/or update their organization’s strategy and decisions regarding high potential identification and notification, succession planning, and talent review process
  • Discuss and identify accountability methods and metrics to increase and measure the results of your talent management program
  • Participate in the Talent Game board game, to learn how to respond to questions from business leaders and to learn more information about talent management research and business return-on-investment
  • Participate in a “Talent Review Meeting Simulation” to see and experience a talent discussion and process; learn talent review meeting facilitation skills and ideas
  • Know the steps and actions to take to prepare for a Talent Review meeting – how to prepare as the facilitator and how to help ensure leaders are prepared for the meeting

Talent Review Meeting Facilitator Certification


The Building Tomorrow’s Talent Facilitator Certification provides the development and the endorsement of the knowledge and skills human resource professionals require to prepare for, lead, and scribe a Talent Review meeting, and to effectively partner with business leaders to review the internal talent within the organization.  

Specifically, the certification will address the following performance objectives.  Upon completion of the certification process, the participant will be able to:
  1. Develop and implement a talent assessment and preparation process, to be completed prior to Talent Review meetings by business leaders.
  2. Plan and prepare for the Talent Review meeting, and ensure business leaders are prepared for the meeting.
  3. Create a Talent Meeting agenda and Ground Rules for the talent meetings. Learn how to determine the length and best environment for an effective Talent Review meeting.
  4. Learn the competencies required to effectively lead a Talent Review meeting.
  5. Learn the competencies required to effectively scribe (or select a scribe) for the Talent Review meeting.
  6. Analyze the talent data gathering during the meeting, and prepare follow up metrics and recommendations for business leader presentation.
